Lois A. Martin Community College Mathematics Award

The Lois A. Martin Community College Mathematics Award recognizes students who participated in the Math Team Competition sponsored by the American Mathematics Association of Two-Year College Student Mathematics League.

Purpose of the Award:
To acknowledge participants of the Math Team Competition.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Participation on the Massasoit Math Team.
(If the Massasoit Math Team ceases to exist in future years, see the eligibility and selection criteria outlined below.)

Selection Process:
Recipients are chosen by the faculty moderators of the Math Team competition and are based on contribution to the team score in each round of testing.

Should the Math Team cease to exist at any point, the eligibility criteria and selection process would be as follows:

1. A graduating Massasoit student who has been at Massasoit for at least two years and has the highest cumulative mathematics average at Massasoit of all students planning to attend a four year college and to become a mathematics teacher.
2. A graduating Massasoit student who has been at Massasoit for at least two years and has the highest cumulative mathematics average at Massasoit of all students planning to attend a four year college and to major in mathematics, or
3. A graduating Massasoit student who has been at Massasoit for at least two years and has the highest cumulative mathematics average at Massasoit of all students planning to attend a four year college and to major in engineering.
